The topic: The Negative Effects of Using Facebook for Cambodian Students

Facebook is one of the most popular social medias in the internet. In this site there are more than billions of people from different countries all over the world used it. As we known, while Facebook have many benefits on us, but it also has many effect negatives on our life too. In fact, the effect negative of using Facebook for Cambodian students, there are several main points such as eyes problem and effect on health, wasted times and money, depression, weakening long distance relationship, no concentrate on studying and lazier.

Once we started on Facebook, such you tried to check your friend’s account, watched clip video or read your friend’s status every day and you spent too much times on it even night, it causes made you got eyes problem. If you are looking at the phone or computer screen the whole day you probably no feel to sleep and your tear fall also. Playing Facebook too much it can make you blink less because of our phone screen or computer screen also. In addition, it effects to your health too such sleep late at night make you no power, you feel headache because of you’re watching too much and make your brain thinking less also.

Second point, as we are students will waste our times by spending of our time on Facebook everyday doing silly things such as reading your friends status messages or try to comment on everyone stats. Then you will download picture of your friends or your family. Also, you try to find a best picture to change your profile for this day. Also, you will spend hours by looking to your friend picture and leave a funny comment for them on every pictures. Before, we online we have to pay money for our phone like you charge the money. So, most of your time and your money will be spending in playing with your friends on Facebook. That is the useless things that we did every day.

Third point, starting on Facebook sometimes depend on your feeling if you feel good it isn’t the problem, but if you check Facebook while you are sad it will make you depression. Example: while you feel alone like your family ignore you and then you saw your friend’s Facebook post with their family, you will feel depress by using Facebook. In addition, you also got jealous while you are checking on it such your friend’s birthday, then their parents buy new phone for her birthday and she posted it, so you will feel jealous in your mind and you must be thinking about that thing why isn’t you. It is the negative thing for us that using Facebook.

Fourth point, using Facebook also make us got weakening long distance relationship. If you were in relationship with someone, you chat to each other every day, but one day you got chat from your Facebook’s friend. Then he chats to you every day you both are getting involve new relationship, and one day your partner will something wrong with you. You and your partner will get long distend.

The last, playing Facebook everyday became to your habit, you will feel lazy and don’t want to do anything. Example: your teacher asked you to do homework, but you have excuse on yourself because you are busy with your Facebook so that made you no concentrating on your studying. Likewise, during you are studying but your phone is online and you scroll Facebook or play chat or comment with your friend, it is the reason that make you don’t pay attention with teacher are teaching so you will skip your lessons and one day you will low grade also, because of using Facebook during studying. These is the negative effect for all of us.

In conclusion, using Facebook definitely comes with negative effects, but not everyone who uses the site is affected. As the reason above that explain about negative effects of using Facebook for Cambodians students. I just want all Cambodian students use it with positive things. We should be able to use the site responsibly by not posting too much information and not spending too much time on Facebook.

My Role Modal

You may never notice about the ways you do things or the manners you behave like, where do they come from? Actually, they can be learned from your surrounding people, namely your mother, father, brothers, sisters, relatives and so forth. In another way, they can be called your role model. Me either, I also have a person that can be considered as my role model. His name is Ketya HUN, my concrete-course teacher. He has an oval face with a long nose and high bridge of the nose attached by dark brown eyes and thick eyelashes. He has a beard but no mustache. He’s got a dark crew-cut hair. He’s a charming man. Unfortunately, He’s going bald. I would say he is the best role model changing my life in my engineering field because of some personalities of him.
The primary thing I noticed about the teacher is that he is punctual but not too strict. He rarely come to class late and leave class early. Only he’s very busy in his tasks that he might come to class late, however, he still teaches us until satisfying the amount of time as planned. For instance, if he arrives class late at 7:20 and he’s assigned to teach for 2 hours per session, then he will teach until 9:20. He always teach his students to be in time not only in the class but also in the job for future career. However, he is not too strict without forgiveness. If you have an inevitable obligation and you’re late for his class you just give him a suitable reason, he will allow you for the class.
At any circumstance, he is very steady and relaxing sort of person. No matters what happen he’s always calm and not feel nervous in his mind, that keeps the mind in peace and allows him to solve difficult problems just like a small thing. Actually, you have to learn to face the tough situation in your life, otherwise you would feel nervous and nothing to do for solving that problem and even give up at times. Such kind of behavior is truly necessary for engineering students because you’re going to take over a top position in an institution one day. You would be responsible for a megaproject and lead many workers, that’s important to maintains constancy in any situation.
Furthermore, the best quality of his personality is the capacity of critical thinking. Even thing seems very complicated they can catch it up immediately. Sometimes, the thing which is result of his critical thought is amazing because it’s easy to understand even it is initially a complex one. He can see and understand the world differently from the grassroots in the same thing. Maybe he’s a good reader and came across many tough experiences. He is extremely successful explaining difficult topics in an intuitive way.
According to these qualities, I decide to take him into my mind as my role model. And I really eager to be a wonderful person like him. So, I will learn step by step and take into action any good manners and behaviors of him.

Going to college is a dream or many people some do the work, graduate, and find good jobs, other students, however, never finish their university studies. Write an essay about what causes students to drop out of college?

As high school students, most of us were taught the dream of going to college from the importance that it has. In real life, examples from our friends teach us the importance of going to college. If you drop out of college you may lose yourself, your family, and your friends. One of my friends dropped out of college because he had a bad friendship. So, they convinced him not to go to the school, but when he grew up he realized that the college was the most important thing in his life.

We sometimes drop out of the college because of bad friendship. For example, my brother’s friend was just 19 years old and he dropped out of college only because he wanted to fit into a group that was bigger than him. As a result of this, he wanted to be seen as “cool,” but that wasn’t all. Due to this, he used drugs that dropped him out of the college totally. These students don’t want to seem irresponsible, so they make up an excuse, such as the bad friendship.

Another reason we drop out of college is that we want to be independent. A lot of news has been saying that students are sensitive during the adolescence. Because of adolescence, they may think that school is “nothing”, it is just a waste of time. Also, facts have been saying that more and more students are being independent related to the school. A good reason that they are independent is that they want to have their own money. However, when we don’t know how to say no and face whatever problems may cause, we often use to drop out of college to avoid difficulties.

However, dropping out of college is not always negative, in fact, familiar problems can yield positive results. In terms of financial support we know that college costs money, so a lot of students cannot afford it.

To sum up, dropping out of college has many reasons, it’s depending on the situation in each student and got many effects from family and society. In my point of view, dropping out of college is not a good idea for your future plan, you had better give an effort on it and encourage yourself to make your future bright.

What makes a good student?

To become a success in life,we all need to learn to become a good student in every aspect of life. Becoming a good student takes much work and self-discipline. There are many ways that a student can stand out from the rest of the class. These good students are distinguished by their attitude, intellectual skills, consciousness, and achievement.
Everything would indeed seem very easy and enjoyable if we think of school as a place for discovering our self as person not as a frustrating place where we are always pressured by a tremendous amount of work. Furthermore, a good student must be punctual, organized, and know how to develop self-discipline.For instance, he or she must always come to class and the assignments and projects on time. Moreover, time management is the best thing for student to improve is a part of their success. In addition, a good student must be active, be polite. Also, a good student would also always listen to the teachers and never interrupt when the teachers are talking or explaining something. Student need to have deeply responsibility in their work such as assignment or project.

Another way to be a good student is to enjoy school life. Every teacher in the world wants to see hard-working students, but they also want to see a student who enjoys school life and an active student. An active student does not mean funny or athletic student. Active students are the ones who like to be a part of the school society. Active students are mostly involved with activities; for example, sports, clubs or school related organizations. However, it does not stop there. Students try to be a leader from their activities, and they want to show some kind of leadership quality. It is the most obvious evidence which shows how active this person is.

All in all, being a good is not that hard, at least you try your best to achieve your goal. I have met most of the criteria of a good student described above. However, I realize that there are still many hindrances that might keep me from achieving my academic goals such as lack of optimism and confidence. I need to overcome these weaknesses in order to become a successful student.

Causes and Effects of Air Pollution

Pollution is now a common place term, that our ears are attuned to. We hear about the various forms of pollution and read about it through the mass media. Air pollution is one such form that refers to the contamination of the air, irrespective of indoors or outside. A physical, biological or chemical alteration to the air in the atmosphere can be termed as pollution. It occurs when any harmful gases, dust, smoke enters into the atmosphere and makes it difficult for plants, animals and humans to survive as the air becomes dirty. How many of type of pollutions? In order to understand the causes of Air pollution, several divisions can be made. Primarily air pollutants can be caused by primary sources or secondary sources. The pollutants that are a direct result of the process can be called primary pollutants. A classic example of a primary pollutant would be the sulfur-dioxide emitted from factories. Secondary pollutants are the ones that are caused by the inter mingling and reactions of primary pollutants. Smog created by the interactions of several primary pollutants is known to be as secondary pollutant.
The caused of Air pollution has Burning of Fossil Fuels, Agricultural activities and Indoor air pollution. Burning of Fossil Fuels, Sulfur dioxide emitted from the combustion of fossil fuelslike coal, petroleum and other factory combustibles is one the major cause of air pollution. Pollution emitting from vehicles including trucks, jeeps, cars, trains, airplanes cause immense amount of pollution. We rely on them to fulfill our daily basic needs of transportation. Agricultural activities, Ammonia is a very common by product from agriculture related activities and is one of the most hazardous gases in the atmosphere. Use of insecticides, pesticides and fertilizers in agricultural activities has grown quite a lot. They emit harmful chemicals into the air and can also cause water pollutionIndoor air pollution,Household cleaning products, painting supplies emit toxic chemicals in the air and cause air pollution. Have you ever noticed that once you paint walls of your house, it creates some sort of smell which makes it literally impossible for you to breathe.
The Effects of Air pollution has Respiratory and heart problems, Global warming, Acid Rain, and Effect on Wildlife. Respiratory and heart problems, the effects of Air pollution are alarming. They are known to create several respiratory and heart conditions along with Cancer, among other threats to the body. Several millions are known to have died due to direct or indirect effects of Air pollution. Children in areas exposed to air pollutants are said to commonly suffer from pneumonia and asthma. Global warming, another direct effect is the immediate alterations that the world is witnessing due to Global warming. With increased temperatures worldwide, increase in sea levels and melting of ice from colder regions and icebergs, displacement and loss of habitat have already signaled an impending disaster if actions for preservation and normalization aren’t undertaken soon. Acid Rain, Harmful gases like nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides are released into the atmosphere during the burning of fossil fuels. When it rains, the water droplets combine with these air pollutants, becomes acidic and then falls on the ground in the form of acid rain. Acid rain can cause great damage to human, animals and crops. Effect on Wildlife, just like humans, animals also face some devastating effects of air pollution. Toxic chemicals present in the air can force wildlife species to move to new place and change their habitat. The toxic pollutants deposit over the surface of the water and can also affect sea animals.
For finally, Several attempts are being made worldwide on a personal, industrial and governmental levels to curb the intensity at which Air Pollution is rising and regain a balance as far as the proportions of the foundation gases are concerned. This is a direct attempt at slacking Global warming. We are seeing a series of innovations and experiments aimed at alternate and unconventional options to reduce pollutants. Air Pollution is one of the larger mirrors of man’s follies, and a challenge we need to overcome to see a tomorrow. For solution for air pollutions has use public mode of transportation, conserve energy, understand the concept of Reduce, Reuse and Re cycle, Emphasis on clean energy resources and use energy efficient devices.

Bus Vs. Car - Comparison Essay

As a conclusion, I can say that public transportation which is less comfortable and less expensive in contrast to private cars should be chosen with many reasons. Compared with private cars, buses and minibuses’ engines are more powerful because of their structural features.

I.
Every people use vehicles for transportation. Among many means of transportation, the most common ones are the buses and peoples’ private cars. Many people choose them because of their different aspects of thinking. From a general overview, these aspects are categorized into comfortableness, expensiveness and the effects to the environment etc. Both two way of transportation has their pros and cons. These properties need to be examined in detail to be able to evaluate the most appropriate means of transportation.
One of the areas that one should investigate is the comfortableness of the vehicles. People, of course, would like to use their own cars. Because, they are more comfortable than the public transportation vehicles. People feel more comfortable because there are not any people apart from themselves. They can listen to the radio according to their wish. They do not worry about whether they are standing or sitting. They can make telephone calls in their own cars. They don’t have to wait or catch the buses. When we consider this situation from this aspect, private cars are chosen for transportation.
The second point I would like to compare is the expensiveness. Contrary to comfortableness, when we consider the expensiveness aspect, we conclude that public transportation should be chosen. Inasmuch as, the buses hold and transport more passengers in comparison to the private cars. Thanks to their transportation capacity, energy saving and cheap cost of transportation would be possible with buses and public vehicles. Therefore, staff and personnel transport services and student transport services are performed through these vehicles.
This brings us to the third point I would like to make comparison, their effects to the environment. The public transportation vehicles are environmentally friendly. They hold many people at a sitting. If everyone uses their own cars, there would be chaos in traffic jam. There will be a decrease in exhaust fumes in relation to the decrease in the vehicles in traffic. Therefore, it will be less dangerous for global warming. Moreover, there will be less pollution originated from exhaust fumes. The usage of public transportation will decrease the emission of exhaust fumes per capita to the minimum level.
As a conclusion, I can say that public transportation which is less comfortable and less expensive in contrast to private cars should be chosen with many reasons. Compared with private cars, buses and minibuses’ engines are more powerful because of their structural features. In order not to play a negative-effective role in traffic and be another reason for traffic jam, public transportation should be selected in spite of its unfavorable specialties.

Solutions to Traffic Jam in Phnom Penh - Exploring Essay

To summarize, there are three key solutions to address the traffic issues in Cambodia: time management, citizen driving behavior, and law enforcement. People should be made aware of this problem, and it’s crucial that we start with ourselves to promote solidarity and bring about positive change in our society. Don’t wait—let’s start obeying traffic laws now.

Currently, traffic congestion is one of the most significant issues in Cambodia, particularly in Phnom Penh. Every day, rows of crowded cars and motorbikes can be seen stuck in traffic. To tackle this problem, several viable solutions can be proposed.

There are three primary factors contributing to the traffic problem in Phnom Penh: time management, citizen driving behavior, and law enforcement. Why is time management an issue? Here are a few solutions: encourage private sectors to invest in school shuttle buses for students at each school, with buses operating according to school schedules (e.g., 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM). This system, particularly for high school and primary school students, could reduce accidents involving young children and decrease the number of parent vehicles during peak hours, alleviating traffic congestion. Additionally, with affordable fees, students would be less likely to skip school, which would also benefit human resource development in Cambodia, especially in Phnom Penh, with the possibility of expanding the initiative to other provinces.

Regarding public transportation, improvements to the bus system can also help. A well-regarded bus system could attract more tourists to Phnom Penh or Siem Reap by offering them a safer, more convenient alternative to private transportation. Tourists wouldn’t have to worry about getting lost, being overcharged, or getting into accidents. Implementing an app that shows nearby buses would allow people to better manage their time and increase the use of public transportation, ultimately reducing the number of vehicles on the road. The size of buses and schedules should also be optimized to avoid high-traffic areas.

Street vendors selling food on busy streets without designated parking areas also contribute to the problem, as people park their vehicles to buy food. We should consider organizing central locations for street food vendors rather than allowing them to operate anywhere.

Finally, law enforcement remains a crucial issue. Although many highways in Phnom Penh have police stationed on standby, there are still some areas where a lack of oversight leads to traffic jams. The government should increase the number of police officers and ensure their presence at all key points in the city. Another issue frequently mentioned is that police lack the authority to fully enforce the law, especially when it comes to a small number of affluent individuals or foreigners who do not respect traffic rules.

Traffic signs and lights are another contributing factor. When drivers can’t see them, they may drive on the wrong side of the road or run red lights. Additionally, markets that occupy public spaces contribute to congestion, so we should be stricter about how market owners use public space for their own benefit. Large restaurants and universities without their own parking should not be allowed to use streetside space meant for pedestrians.

In conclusion, the government must continue to enforce traffic laws and promote them in school curriculums at both the secondary and higher education levels. Although this is a long-term process, it will yield positive outcomes in the near future. Indeed, if we start with ourselves, we can promote solidarity and bring about much-needed change in our society. Don’t wait—start obeying traffic laws today.

Angkor Wat- Descriptive Essay

Angkor Wat is an incredible monument of a civilization that has vanished ages ago. The monument, however, is still standing, reminding us of the greatest days of the Khmer Empire. This is a unique architectural complex, incredibly difficult in its plan and sophisticated in its execution. Therefore, this place is a must-see for any tourist heading to Southeast Asia.
Each country in the world has contributed to the world’s cultural heritage. One of the most contributing parts of the world to cultural heritage is East Asia. Architectural, religious, musical, visual, and literary forms of art practiced by East Asian people had been greatly influenced by religious traditions practiced in the region in particular, Hinduism and Buddhism. One of the most outstanding monuments ever created under the influence of these two paradigms was the temple complex of Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
The Angkor Wat complex is located in the northern province of Siem Reap. Its overall square is approximately 400-square kilometers; on it, numerous temples, basins, reservoirs, canals, and communication routes are located. Angkor Wat had been a center of the Khmer Kingdom; with its impressive monuments, urban plans, and a complicated system of canals, the site is an exemplar of Khmer architecture, closely linked to the geographical context, and possessing strong symbolic significance. In the Khmer Empire, it had a high level of social order and ranking. Therefore, Angkor Wat has a strong cultural, religious, and symbolic value, as well as aesthetic and artistic significance.
Angkor Wat is so vast that it is difficult to grasp its entire architectural plan if you are walking around the monument’s territory. From a distance, Angkor Wat looks like a colossal mass of stone, but if you get closer, you will see numerous elevated towers, chambers, and courtyards all of them located on different levels, and connected with stairways and covered galleries. Angkor Wat’s central tower’s overall height is surprisingly greater than it might seem; it is 699 feet high, which is an amazing index for a building raised in ancient times, without modern cranes and other facilities. This had been achieved with three rectangular or square levels; each of them is progressively smaller and higher than the one below. Covered galleries with columns are located on the first and second levels, and on the third level there are five towers. Four of them are located in the monument’s corners, and the last one is standing in the center. These towers are of a conical shape, and are decorated with the ornament of lotuses.
Moreover, the whole monument’s profile imitates a lotus bud. Surprisingly, you cannot see all the five towers at the same time they are visible only when looking at the monument from certain angles, and if you look from the entrance, you will not be able to see them. The shape of a cross is dominant for the majority of structures and constructions located within the monument, such as courtyards, basins, and so on. The hallmark of Angkor Wat is a curved sloping roof of galleries, chambers, and aisles: from a distance, it looks like a series of long narrow ridges, which looks incredibly beautiful.

The different between shopping at store and shopping online - Comparative Essay

Have ever you purchased a product via Internet? It is getting more convenient to do so, and I seldom meet someone who has not done it. The online shopping is widespread at the age of technology. It is a trend; even so, there are still some benefits of conventional shopping that cannot be replaced. Time, risks, and the service are my concerns before I choose to do conventional or online shopping.

The first difference is time. Shopping at stores takes more time than shopping online. I need a lot of energy walking around to look for what I want or compare the prices. While I am doing these things, I always have to spend at least 5 hours each time. For instance, once I find a skirt I like, I will pause to ponder whether it is suitable for me or if it can match well with my other clothes. Sometimes, I will go to other stores to see if I could find better skirts with more reasonable prices. During the time I look for better skirts, my mind will calm a little bit to see if I really want them or it is just an impulse. These processes all take me a lot of time comparing and walking around. It sounds like tortures. But for a woman, it is an enjoyment. Unlike shopping at stores, it takes less time and effort to purchase goods online, which takes only a few clips within seconds. And I can easily compare the prices in a short time. The most important is on-line stores are open 24 hours a day. There is no time limitation at all. I can do the shopping anytime I like.

Another difference is the risk between shopping at stores and shopping online. The risk of shopping at stores is less than that of shopping online. I get to see the products in person so that there will not be incongruence in my imagination before and after purchasing. People who have purchased a product on the Internet may be more likely to experience such kind of disillusion. They may find out what they receive is not of the same quality as what they see in the pictures posted on the websites. In addition, the payment is made immediately without any trouble and worries in store shopping. Both the shop owner and the shopper don’t need to worry about follow-up problems. In contrast, online shopping owners are bothered with receiving the payments while customers are worried about the credibility if the sum of money is big. And the credit becomes vital when the risk is higher for online shoppers. I need to take risks purchasing cheap products so that I will not be disappointed at the products. Also, I worry about the honesty of the online sellers. “Are their goods the same as what is described on the websites? Do I receive the goods as promised right after the money remittance? ” These are my uncertainties about the sellers’ trustworthiness.

The last difference would be the service. Disadvantages of shopping at stores could be advantages for shopping online. For instance, the store clerks might recommend some products, which is quite annoying. Oftentimes they not only disturb my decisions, but also ruin my mood. They are sometimes hard to get rid of. On the other hand, the after-sales service is guaranteed unless the shops close down. At least I recognize whom I can complain to or where I can get a refund for the dissatisfying products. Even though I won’t be disturbed when making choices on the products on the shopping websites, the after-sales service is not that convenient, which could be the reason for my giving up the service of goods exchange. I do not like to complain or request for refunds or exchanges through the phone calls. It makes me feel unreal. The clerk might ignore me after being polite over the phone. I would have to make another call as I lose my patience waiting for the result. It is bothering and makes me want to quit asking for a demand.

These differences affect my ways of shopping. I admit shopping online may become more prevalent. It has some features that are suitable for busy people. Most of the time, however, I would rather choose to shop at stores where I enjoy “real” shopping very much. I still like the feeling of being in the reality where I get to see, touch, and be surrounded by various or vivid exhibitions. There is a suggestion for the sellers online. It could make me purchase products more via the Internet. I hope the postage for product delivery or the limited amount of purchasing money for free delivery fees would be lower. Due to high delivery fees, the sum of money is almost the same as the prices at stores. That won’t be a promotion even if the products are claimed to be the cheapest within the markets.

Differences between football and boxing-Comparative Essay

Most people likes playing sport. It would be a fun and healthy activity for players. Obviously, people may have different interest, characteristics, and lifestyle…etc. For instance, they may have different favorite sport and idol. There are plenty of sports which people are taking these day; some are friendly, some are competitive and others may be a violent one. Meanwhile, there are two popular sports in Cambodia, namely football and boxing.

The primary thing about the differences is the solidarity and independency of the sport players. Football, practically, the spirit of this sport is to create a sense of solidarity in your team. It consist of  11 players working and communicating together to be successful. Every single player’s contribution is very important role to the team. The whole team cannot depend on only a greatest player because we play 11 against 11 players on the field, even though you are a great player but you cannot beat those players by your own efforts without your teammates’ collaboration. All football players should be trained in the same training camp under coaching of the same coach for a period of time before a game start. Unlike the football, boxing requires a strong sense of independency of its sportsmen. You learn to fight alone against your opponent without helping from other people during the match. Thus, to be self-confidence, maintain your mood and to defend your body by own efforts is the key to survive and succeed in this toughest sport.

There is a great disparity of characteristics in the match between the two sports. Every level of people can watch and play football no matter how young or old they are, whether male or female, normal people or patients, that’s because football is a peaceful sport. In contrast, the boxing seems brutally violent because the competitor must fight his/her opponents by throwing more punches, more powerful to weaken them and eventually make them fall down in order to beat them. According to this, it’s not suitable for children, pregnant women, heart-disease people to watch such violent match.

The last but not least, difference between the two sports is the physical strength. To become a great footballer, you need to be trained to be dynamic and full of tactics along with an acceptable strong body. You are just able to run at a high speed with your strong body and use tactics to manage the ball, that’s enough. However, the boxer need to come across very difficult physical training. They are trained to resist the force from punching from their opponents without significant physical hurt and fight them back. It takes hours in the gym and years to develop the specific characteristics needed to be a great boxer.

Even though football and boxing have many differences, but both sports requires sportsmen’s interest and determination to be successful. Although we are interested in different types of sport, we should give value to them all even not your favorite ones.

Two Years of Suffering Were Worth It

I have been studying English since 2008, and have always attended classes where English was the medium of instruction. I earned my bachelor's degree in TESOL from PUC in 2015. Wanting to pursue another degree, I decided to take the entrance exam at IFL, which had always been my dream language institution. After passing the language proficiency test and interview, I began my first semester at the end of 2015.

I faced some challenges during my first semester. I found myself in a class with people from diverse backgrounds, most of whom had earned their bachelor's degrees from IFL. I did not know them, and they did not know me either. I studied under experienced lecturers who had graduated from overseas, which made everything feel new. I remember one particularly interesting but difficult subject—English Phonology. It was a new area for me, as I hadn't studied it during my bachelor's degree. The lecturer, who had graduated from the USA, was very strict. It was hard to understand the material since I had never been exposed to this subject before. However, I worked hard to grasp the concepts. Eventually, I became interested in the field of phonology and chose it as the focus of my research proposal. Thankfully, I passed all my subjects in the first semester.

In my second semester, I began studying research methodologies. Before pursuing my master's degree, I had little knowledge of research. Research is generally divided into two types: qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative research deals more with ideas and opinions, while quantitative research focuses on numbers. As assignments and homework began to pile up, I struggled, especially as deadlines approached.

By the third semester, every student was required to choose a research topic and a supervisor. As mentioned earlier, I was particularly interested in pronunciation, so I chose one feature of pronunciation—lexical stress—for my research proposal. A research proposal is a clear plan outlining your intended thesis research. It must include the research topic, literature review, research methodology, research plan, and more.

Next, students had to defend their proposals. Two examiners would listen and provide feedback during the proposal presentation. Before the defense, presenters had to organize a well-structured slide presentation. Each candidate was allotted about 15 minutes for their presentation and 10 minutes for questions and answers. The examiners gave extensive feedback to help candidates improve their research proposals.

In my final semester, I had to balance both studying and writing my research thesis. It was a tough job that required immense effort. I had to teach in the morning, attend classes in the evening, and work on my research at night, leaving me with little sleep. Candidates were supposed to work closely with their supervisors, but I didn’t meet with mine as often as I would have liked. Nevertheless, I managed to successfully complete my thesis.

Here are some valuable experiences I gained from my master's degree. First, I had the opportunity to teach at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), and Phnom Penh International University (PPIU) simultaneously. Interestingly, RUPP and ITC only recruited candidates who had earned their bachelor's degrees from IFL at the time, but despite having graduated from PUC, I was able to pass the interview because I was pursuing my master's degree at IFL.

Second, I had the chance to study with experienced lecturers who had completed their doctoral studies at prestigious institutions. Most of these lecturers had earned PhDs from countries like the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and various European nations. Third, the school offered special workshops and seminars, often held on campus, featuring language experts and book authors. I was especially excited to meet the authors of textbooks I had studied in the GEP program.

Finally, I now hold a master's degree from a well-known institution, which serves as a bridge and scaffold for pursuing further education.

MY Father-Descriptive Essay

Children could say that their father is a perfect father ever in the world. I actually do not know if that is right, but what I only know is that my father is perfect person for me. Sometimes, I just think that it could be great, if I could be a petit percent of what he is. What makes my father perfect for me? Well! There are some special things about my father; the way he moves, the way he eats, the way he speaks, the way he dresses, the way he behave, etc. Let’s start to describe the way that my father looks like.

First of all, I could say that the way he acts and moves is an important part of his personality. For example soothing particular of him is that he tends to walk very quickly, this may be the reason about why he is that thin, he walks a lot everywhere, and I frequently believe that he does not walk, he jogs! Taking about the way he eats, he has a particular way to take rice from the plate without noise, then he chews it without noise as well, he loves to eat rice with soup and every time that I eat with him, I wish I could enjoy my food as he does. When he eats, he tends not to speak; however, when he speaks is another story. When he speaks is easy to notice his expressions, because he always frowns; when he has doubts, he always smiles when he is happy, and he always is serious when he is worried. His expressions are something that makes even more interesting to listen to him.

Furthermore, you could see that his clothes are classy and formal; however, if you know him as I do, you could notice that he dresses all kind of clothes; tight-fitting, dark clear, cheap, expensive, soft, formal, informal, sportive. All his clothes are different, and I like them, but being honest, there is a jacket that I do not like at all, it is heavy, brow and in my opinion a little bit oldie. His clothes fit well with the way he looks, my father is tall and thin, he always has his hair cut short, and he is grey- haired. In other words my dad’s appearance is simply unique.

In addition, He is the kind of person that is interesting to listen. I could say that when I listen to him I can learn something. Every time that I want to have an honest opinion, I always go with my father, because he gives me his opinion from the bottom of his heart. In the other hand, when he needs to tell me something, he waits the perfect time to tell me, somewhere where it is calm and relaxed. And if it is something bad; he always tries to give me his advice, when he gives me some advice, it is important for me because I can feel the support that everyone needs, when my father gives me his support, I can feel confident and safe.

Lastly, my father is the kind of person that does not show his feelings a lot. But I could say that he can be though; however, when his with me it is not like that at all, he might not kiss and jug me every single day, but when he does, it is what I consider the most sincere actions that someone can ask for. When he hugs me, I feel warm and loved, his hard skin becomes a soft thing.

To sum up, my father is the best father for me according to many ways: the ways he acts and moves, the way eats, the ways he speaks, the ways he dresses, and some of his great personalities. I hope when I grow up I will have some similarities both of his appearances and personalities.
